Home Staging & Design
Green Velvet
Organization and Functional Design
"Design is not just what it looks and feels like.
Design is how it works."
-- Steve Jobs --
But it has to look pretty.
Beautiful pictures of staged homes, department stores with their millions of fluffy pillows, pictures of generic landscapes and people-less art. All these decor trends have their place in waiting rooms, department stores, and staged-to-sell homes. But where we live and work, the places we rest and cook, rock babies and play--all these places need first and foremost to function.
Great design is both functional and beautiful.
We are here to help with both.
We believe a room should create a feeling, help you focus on what you are there to do, and not have any road-blocks in daily function.
How It Works
Green Velvet Staging is a three step staging process:
1. Phone Conversation and Schedule Home Consultation
We will discuss the scope of the project and decide if a home consultation is needed before we begin. This is usually the case, however some organization projects can be completed at that same time. We will email a questionnaire to you to think about and fill out. This will give us a place to start discussions at your home consultation for the details of your project.
(Consultation Deposit Is Due before Home Consultation Appointment)
2. Home Consultation and Schedule Design Day
We will meet with you at your home and discuss the needs of your space, take pictures, and discuss a plan. This step is vitally important as we plan a space based off design principles but also based on how YOU use the space (or how you may want to use the space). We take into account many factors including (but not limited to) purpose of the room, kids, right or left handed, do you cook or bake, pets, etc. The answers to these questions help us determine the best route on how to organize, design, what fabrics, flooring, colors to use. We will email you an Organization and Design Plan (ODP) for you to approve before Design Day. The ODP is a workable document and we can adjust it to your needs as needed.
(ODP Deposit Is Due before Design Day, details will be in your ODP)
3. Design Day
This is the fun day! We will arrive with items we have discussed and will organize and design for you! While you don't need to be there to assist us, it is helpful if we can contact you with questions that may arise. Depending on the scope of your project, Design Day may take many days--this will be detailed in your Organization and Design Plan, so it won't be a surprise.
(ODP Final Invoice Is Due at completion of your project)
